Krishna Janmashtami : An Indian Festival

Location: Old Delhi, India
Shot on: Canon 700D

Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the occasion of Lord Krishna's birthday. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu, who is considered to be the operator of the world, incarnated as Krishna in Dwapar Yuga to protect and relive the world from demonic powers.
I personally admire him the most because of philosophies about love and life he had given as Krishna. Hence, it's a very special day for me.

Panchamrit (five food items which are used in Hindu Worship):
Cow milk, Honey, Curd, Ghee, and Gangajal

The celebration varies according to places and beliefs associated.
At my home, we perform Panchamrit Snan, make sweets and worship at 12 in the night.
The Pachamrit Snan is the best part of the whole celebration when we bathe his idol with all the five ingredients i.e., Ghee, Honey, Cow Milk, Curd, and Ganga Jal. After that, we decked him up with new clothes and jewelry. In sweets as Prasad, we prepare Charnamrit, Makhana ki Kheer, Makhana Paag and Meva Paag.
